Meritus Credit Union proudly supports educators who are looking for ways to expand instruction and engage their students with the Meritus Credit Union Class Cash Program.
Class Cash Program
Details: Funds received from this grant may go towards purchasing classroom materials, positive behavior incentives, classroom makeovers or other related items or projects to impact student success. Awards are paid directly to the schools for the educators. Grant recipients will be contacted directly and announced on our website, Facebook and Instagram.
Eligibility: Applicants must be current teachers at schools located in Acadia, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Martin or Vermilion parishes. Applicants do not need to bank with Meritus Credit Union to apply. Applicants are eligible to receive only one Meritus Credit Union grant award per school calendar year.
Award: Ten (10) grants; $250 each

Funds will be used to purchase a laser engraver and materials for students to create custom designs in digital media and computer science.

Funds will be used to purchase a microphone and news anchor shirts to enhance 5th graders’ daily and weekly school news broadcasts.

Funds will be used to launch a gardening club that will incorporate financial literacy through student participation in the local Farmer’s Market.
Ashleigh D'Aunoy — Episcopal School of Acadiana — Lafayette Parish

Funds will be used to purchase a new 3D printer for K–5 students to strengthen STEM skills through hands-on, creative problem-solving.
Morgan Breaux— Martin Petitjean Elementary — Acadia Parish

Funds will be used to purchase books, hands-on materials, and other essentials to make learning fun and help create a supportive classroom space.
Cullen Zeno — St. Martin Early STEAM Elementary — St. Martin Parish

Funds will be used to purchase a classroom stage to introduce students to theatre, build performance skills, and spark creativity.

Funds will be used to purchase adaptive equipment and assistive technology to make physical education more inclusive for special needs students.

Funds will be used to purchase hands-on math tools like base ten blocks and fraction tiles to help students deepen their understanding of key math concepts.

Funds will be used to purchase a hands-on science and math project where students track weather, grow plants, and graph real-world data.
